Betty Kracker - Easy Bay Coven
"...crunchy, delirious punk infused with hectic melodies and sludgy downbeats. ... a flourishing EP that is full of the contorted contradictions and turbulent risks that Betty Kracker pull off flawlessly."

"...They come on like SLANT 6 mixed with SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES: spooky guitar lines and echo-laden vocals from all four members. It's got a definite SoCal vibe too... some of these songs could fit right in on the SUBURBIA soundtrack! Pop and punk, yet not pop punk, know what I mean?"
MAXIMUMROCKNROLL, 03/2007

"Mike Mclean and the band recorded this six-song EP at local hotspot rehearsal studio Faceplant. They didn't do a half-bad job of it. Guitars ring in all the right places, drums pound appropriately, bass undulates and the vocals careen over top of the smartly arranged and well-written tunes. Shades of early Souixsie on opener "Driven", which serves as a fine, lead track and sets the table for the catchy glam-pop and memorable guitar tag line of "Cool". "Jell-O Mould" is a driving Buzzcocks (Circa 'Another Music in a Different Kitchen') rager with dueling vocal action. The band touches on many different genres and mashes it up quite nicely. Something here for almost everyone...especially fans of most post-punk UK pop circa 1979.."
Boy Howdy, The Nerve, 11/2006

"Considering all the retroactive cool points such '80's So-Cal Punk bands as The Circle Jerks and Agent Orange have received recently, it is sorta sad that the lady fronted bands from those times get less recognition (sad, but typical). Frightwig, The Lunachicks and The Avengers all deserve to be held in the same high esteem. It makes me glad to say that Betty Kracker, musically at least, seems to agree with me. Taking their cue from those fine bands, and chucking some Crass and X into the mix, Easy Bay Coven serves up a righteous old school Garage Punk smack upside the head. It's good to see some women back in the slam pit. "
